<< home Courses The Academy of Fine Arts in Nürnberg offers two postgraduate courses focusing on architecture and urban research. The courses last 2 years and students will receive an Master of Architecture or an Master of Arts depending on their prior qualification.

Mode of application / schedule: The next possible entry to the M.Arch program is the academic year 2007. The deadline for written applications is 15. May 2007.
Applicants whose portfolios have been pre-selected will be invited for an admission examination, which is divided into a practical and a oral examination (§§ 21 – 25a QualV). There will be no appointments for portfolio discussions prior to hand in.
The application must include: - A covering letter - A current CV - Recent passport photograph - The applicants must state whether she/he has a criminal record - Portfolio (no bigger than A3 - German or English), no slides, cds or other digital media will be accepted. Portfolios will only be returned if franked envelope with return address is provided - Signed confirmation of authorship of the included work - Certified copy of Diploma Certificate
Foreign students need proof of sufficient knowledge of the German language as well as an acknowledgement of their qualifications of the Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle München, Pündterplatz 5, 80803 München, Tel. +49.89.383849-0, zastby@ukwkm.lrz-muenchen.de.
Qualifications needed for the Master of Architecture: A completed degree/ diploma in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, urban design or urban planning after at least 4 years studying time (Art.60 Abs.6 BayHSchG i.V.m. § 51 Abs.1 QualV) at a university, polytechnic or art school. Alternatively: BA (hons) in architecture after a 3year course at a university, polytechnic or art school. (Art.60 Abs.6 BayHSchG i.V.m. § 51 Abs.1 QualV).
Qualifications needed for the Master of Arts: A completed degree at an art school or a completed degree in an artistic program after at least 3 years studying time at a university or polytechnic school. (§60 Abs. 2 BayHSchG in combination with §§ 22 ff. QualV)
